What made the news today:
Tanks have been sent into a warzone.
A corrupt politician’s office has been searched.
A sex offender has been arrested.
A village will be destroyed for a coalmine.
Somebody describes how they struggle to give up coffee.
What didn’t make the news today:
The single mother working three jobs, hoping to secure a better future for her child.
Doctors working unpaid in their holiday to ensure the survival of children in warzones.
The young man who overcame a mental health crisis and is now supporting others.
The tired nurse working overtime to make sure her patient makes it through the night.
The landlord charging much less than he could. The young mother not getting any sleep.
The retiree volunteering for a homeless charity. The old man picking up litter on his daily walk. The spouse caring for her husband after a stroke. The guy who didn’t press the trigger.
Choosing forgiveness over revenge won’t make the news.
Offering a coin and a smile to the man on the street won’t make the news.
Calling a friend who’s going through a hard time won’t make the news.
But it matters.
